Dual Horizon Studio

Dual Horizon Studio is a French game developer dedicated to creating premium RPGs inspired by the timeless adventures that defined the genre. We combine character-driven storytelling, deep gameplay systems and handcrafted worlds to deliver memorable journeys for modern players.

Our ambition is to create the kind of RPGs we grew up loving, with rich worlds to explore, believable characters to meet, and memorable music that stay with players long after the adventure ends. Backed by decades of experience in game development and entertainment production, we're building original worlds designed to endure.

Velorys is a premium single-player JRPG set in a Renaissance-inspired fantasy world, blending the spirit of classic RPG adventures with modern gameplay systems. Players embark on an epic odyssey across islands, kingdoms and merchant cities, experiencing a world shaped by discovery, ambition and conflict through the eyes of two intertwining parties.

Developed in UE 5 by a core team of 12 and brought to life with the support of 18 contributors, Velorys' 30-minute playable prototype was created entirely with original assets and without generative AI. We believe that authenticity and human craftsmanship are essential to creating an adventure that truly resonates with players.

The Team behind Velorys

Alexandre Panau

Creative Director

A lifelong JRPG enthusiast, I have worked for almost fifteen years in production, support and creative roles across anime, film, TV series and video games with both Japanese and French entertainment companies.

I began working on Velorys in June 2025 with the ambition of creating the kind of narrative RPGs that inspired me growing up. A game I would love to make and players will want to play. My favorite RPGs include Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy VI & IX, Valkyrie Profile, Persona 4, Baldur's Gate 3, and many others.

Loïc Bigot

Technical Director

For over 25 years, I've worked across game design, development and production, contributing to both indie projects and established adventure game franchises, including Syberia: The World Before and Amerzone: The Explorer's Legacy as technical director.

I've always loved RPGs and adventure games that leave a lasting impression through their worlds, stories and gameplay. Joining Dual Horizon Studio was an opportunity to help build the kind of narrative-driven experience I enjoy both as a player and as a developer.

Grégoire Frot

Concept Artist

I've worked in the video game industry as a concept artist for over six years, contributing to a wide variety of projects and crafting visual worlds that strengthen both gameplay and storytelling.

From characters and creatures to props and environments, I enjoy creating cohesive worlds that invite players to explore and imagine. Velorys is the perfect opportunity to help define the visual identity of a new RPG universe and bring its world to life.

Alexandre Blanchar

Game Designer

I've been working in the video game industry for almost 10 years in game design, level design and narrative design. Alongside video games, I've also designed tabletop RPGs, board games and even live-action role-playing experiences.

I've always been passionate about games with memorable stories and compelling characters, so joining Dual Horizon Studio was a natural fit. We share the same ambition: creating RPGs that are as enjoyable to build as they are to play.

Bobby Rose

Composer

Théo Cucci

Sound Designer

Noah Mazard

Gameplay Programmer

I've been passionate about video games since childhood, which led me to study game programming so I could create my own games. Over the past three years, I've worked as the sole programmer on several projects, helping turn ideas into playable experiences.

While I mainly enjoy multiplayer games with friends, I also have a deep appreciation for story-driven games. That's what drew me to Dual Horizon Studio. Contributing to Velorys and helping bring its narrative and innovative combat system to life is an exciting challenge.

Thomas Dalmasso

Environment Artist

I'm a 3D environment artist who has been passionate about video games for as long as I can remember. I especially enjoy games with exceptional world design like Outer Wilds, thought-provoking narratives like 1000xResist, and challenging gameplay experiences such as Sekiro. I'm also a lifelong RPG fan, with favorites including the Persona series, Dragon Quest, The Witcher and Final Fantasy.

I've worked on several independent projects creating immersive environments and believable worlds for players to explore. Joining Dual Horizon Studio gives me the opportunity to help bring the rich, diverse world of Velorys to life and create the kind of memorable journey I love experiencing as a player.

Jordi Coll

VFX & Animation Artist

I grew up playing MMORPGs before discovering RPGs, which quickly became my favorite genre through games like Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy and Pokémon. As a kid, I even created my own tactical RPGs using nothing more than a chessboard and sheets of paper. That's when I realized I wanted to create the worlds I loved exploring.

Then, while studying art, I discovered a passion for 3D animation and visual effects. I worked on small projects and game jams, experimenting with different artistic styles and pipelines before joining Dual Horizon Studio as a freelance artist. Velorys is my first professional game production, and an invaluable experience that helps me grow both professionally and as an artist.

Léa Blanchecotte

UI Designer

I've always been passionate about video games and visual creation, which naturally led me to study graphic design and pursue a career as a game artist.

As a longtime fan of RPGs, especially the Persona series, Velorys immediately caught my attention, and I joined the team in 2026 as a UI designer. My goal is to create interfaces that are both intuitive and visually engaging, allowing players to immerse themselves in the adventure from the very first moment.
